The University of Nottingham Malaysia was established 22 years ago and is steadfast in its commitment to providing a comprehensive educational experience. It offers world-class teaching, led by academics who are some of the best researchers in their respective fields and a friendly and inclusive campus environment. The University of Nottingham is ranked 114 in the world and (18 in the UK) out of more than 1,000 universities in the QS World University Rankings 2023 and offers courses from the foundation level right up to doctoral degrees through its specialist schools and departments under the Faculties of Arts and Social Sciences, and Engineering and Science. Our student community of about 5000 students come from 75 different countries and are assisted by a support staff of more than 600 personnel, who ensure that operations at the university are carried out effectively and efficiently even in the face of a pandemic. The university takes pride in providing an environment for students that is conducive to learning, teaching and carrying out research. This is supported by its strong library provision (physical and virtual), dedicated study areas and laboratories (computing, languages, sciences and engineering), as well as virtual labs for online lessons.

To encourage a work-life balance, the campus provides a wide range of recreational facilities including a purpose-built sports complex and a swimming pool. Although the COVID-19 pandemic was a difficult time for everyone, the UNM community stayed connected through various talks, events and activities while ensuring that the well-being of staff and students remained at the forefront. We are committed to continuing to support the well-being of all our students and staff going forward. UNM’s existing strength in education and research is set to make a difference in Malaysia and globally. With campuses in Malaysia, China and the UK, UNM is truly a global institution and we welcome you to embark on an exciting world-class educational experience with us.

The University of Nottingham prides itself on its unique International Curriculum which we believe truly enhances the student experience. The Malaysia campus plays a special role within Nottingham's global vision. We have an increasing number of students participating in our inter-campus exchange programmes and offer an exciting range of Summer School programmes all of which have an international element; be it through language learning or courses with a special focus on Asian travel, business or culture. The Malaysia campus also plays a leading role in the development, strategy and implementation of the International curriculum as the International working group is lead by Vice-Provost for Teaching and Learning, Professor Ong Fon Sim.
